Alaa Sarhan and Khalid El Abd — Egyptian-Italian process manufacturing engineers, born in Gharbia and raised in Italy — grew up surrounded by the fields and farmers that produce Egypt's finest flax.
Their engineering careers gave them the technical understanding of what manufacturers need from their raw material. They knew both sides — the field and the factory.
When they saw that European manufacturers had no direct, reliable route to premium Egyptian scutched flax, they did not see a market opportunity. They saw a personal responsibility.
Nefertex was their answer.
